Click here to read the CNN article about the legitimate health benefits of massage therapy. I know massage therapy has been slowly gaining acceptability in the US as a medical treatment. It's not like I suddenly came to this realization after reading the article. But, every time I see stuff like this, I like to think that it's on step closer to holistic and other alternative 'medical treatments' being taken seriously by doctors and insurance companies. I'm not anti-doctor or anything, and I've never had a massage, but I would like more options that are affordable (and that my doctor won't laugh at). I have a bad back, so my doctor just prescribes pills. That doesn't help - it just masks. It would be nice to be able to afford a chiropractor or continued massage therapy. I think we're a step or two closer to having these alternative treatments covered by health insurance.
