My mother-in-law.... *sigh*
She's not technically sabotaging since it's not intentional, but sometimes it feels as though it is. She knows I only use 100% natural personal care products (such as lotion and shampoo) for myself and my children, yet she continues to buy for us gifts that are loaded with chemicals. My two year old son has extremely sensitive skin, so even if I wanted to use the Disney or Thomas and Friends themed bubble bath for him, it's just not possible. He sees the containers, knows they're bubble bath, and wants to use the children's character brands. He can't without it resulting in painful irritation.
Although I've talked to my mother-in-law about it, she continues to buy these types of products. (To her credit, she does buy different brands each time I tell her the previous one she gave us wouldn't work). She has it in her head that any product created for children is gentle enough for ALL children. I wish she would understand that's not the case. I'm just at a loss.....
It's very frustrating.
(I know - not the end of the world, but it happens often and I can't think of any other ways to explain to her WHY she can't buy the stuff that most stores sell).

I have had very similar experiences. People around me do not pay any attention to the products they use. They think it is foolish to pay more for oragnic products. They think I have been brainwashed.

My husband used to say I was brainwashed, haha. Then he realized he was loosing weight because of the things that are foolish!
I don't try to force being natural and eating organic on anyone, but for some reason people become defensive or judgmental when I mention it.

They do! Everybody seems to have a million questions. I follow Dr. Fuhrman's eating program. When I sit down, at the table, I have a HUGE serving bowl full of salad in front of me. This will always start an inquisition that asks "You can eat that much?" to "Is that all you eat?" There is no pleasing everybody

I'll have to look into Dr. Fuhrman's diet. I don't really know much about it.

I've heard the name before, but can't really think of anything associated with him. Do you have any links? I'm always willing to learn more about what others do to become / stay healthy.
