I recently purchased a copy of The Freezer Cooking Manual from 30 Day Gourmet. My parents didn't cook much. I was pretty much raised on dinners that came out of boxes and pre-packaged frozen food that was very high in preservatives, sodium, and who knows what else. In high school, I voluntarily signed up for Home-Ec (even though I wasn't the 'girly' type) because I appreciate good food, and didn't want to live off of preservatives for the rest of my life. Home cooking with natural and organic ingredients has been really great - until the past few months. My two year old has become a big brother! With a young toddler and an infant, it's hard to cook quality meals, so I've decided to go back to how I was raised - with a twist. Yes, I'm pulling something out of the freezer most nights. But, I prepared the food from scratch. I have direct control over fat and sodium content. I have the piece of mind of knowing that it's preservative free, 100% natural, wholesome, and good for the whole family. Are there any other organic freezer cooks out there?

I eat a mostly raw foods diet, but freezer cooking seems like something I would have done a few years ago. Wish I had known about it then! I think any diet (cooked or raw) that is mostly organic is better than all the alternatives. Glad it's working for you.
